Terms of Service

These Terms are the agreement between you and Rydes LLC (“Rydes”, “we”, “us”) covering your use of rydes.club and the Rydes mobile apps.

By creating an account or using Rydes, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

You must be at least 13 years old to hold an account. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian’s permission, and they are responsible for your use of the service.

One person, one account. Do not share your account, do not sell it, and do not create an account on someone else’s behalf without their say-so. If we have terminated your account before, do not create another one.

Give us accurate information when you sign up and keep it current. Keep your password to yourself — you are responsible for what happens under your account, and if you think someone else has got into it, tell us at pitcrew@rydes.club immediately.

You can delete your account whenever you like, from your settings. What happens to your information afterwards is set out in the Privacy Policy.

Plans

Rydes has a free tier and paid memberships. What each includes, and what it costs, is on the pricing page, which forms part of these Terms. The free tier needs no card and has no trial clock. You can move up or down between plans at any time, and changing plans never deletes what is in your garage.

Renewal

Paid memberships renew automatically — monthly or yearly, whichever you chose — at the price then in effect, until you cancel. We will charge the payment method on file each period.

Cancelling

Cancel at any time from your settings. Your membership stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then stops. You will not be charged again.

Refunds

Payments are not refundable for partial periods — cancelling stops the next charge rather than refunding the current one. Where consumer law in your jurisdiction gives you a refund right, that law wins over this paragraph. If something has gone genuinely wrong with a charge, write to us and we will look at it.

Buying through an app store

If you subscribe inside the iOS or Android app, Apple or Google takes the payment and their terms govern the transaction. Manage or cancel that subscription in your App Store or Google Play account — we cannot cancel it for you, and refunds are theirs to give.

Price changes

We may change prices. If a change affects a plan you are on, we will tell you at least 30 days before it applies to you, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

Your photos and posts stay yours. Rydes claims no ownership of the vehicles you document, the pictures you take, or the words you write.

To actually run the service, we need your permission to handle that content. By posting it, you grant Rydes a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, resize, display and distribute it for the purpose of operating and promoting the platform — showing your garage to members, putting your image in the gallery, sending your post to a thread. This license lasts while the content is on Rydes and ends a reasonable period after you delete it, save for backups and content others have re-shared within the platform.

You promise that, for everything you post:

• You own it, or you have the right to post it.
• It does not infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity rights.
• Photographs you did not take are ones you have permission to use.

We may remove content that breaks these Terms, and we may refuse to host content that exposes us or our members to legal risk. We are not obliged to keep a copy of anything you delete.

Rydes is a community. Do not:

• Harass, threaten, bully or abuse another member.
• Post hateful content, or attack people over race, religion, sex, gender, orientation, disability or origin.
• Impersonate someone else, or misrepresent a vehicle’s history, condition or ownership.
• Post sexual content, graphic violence, or anything involving minors inappropriately.
• Spam, run pyramid schemes, or push unrelated commercial promotions.
• Post anything illegal, or offer stolen goods or stolen vehicles.
• Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the platform, or use bots to interact with it.
• Reverse-engineer, probe or attack our systems, or try to reach data that is not yours.
• Get around rate limits, plan allowances, or any technical restriction we apply.
• Upload malware, or anything designed to break something.

If you see something that breaks these rules, report it. We read reports and we act on them.

Members list parts and vehicles in the marketplace, members and organizers list events, and businesses appear in the vendor directory. Rydes is not a party to any of it.

We do not broker, inspect, guarantee, insure or take payment for a marketplace deal. We do not run the events listed on the platform, and we do not vet every vendor. What is sold, what it is worth, whether it turns up, and whether it is what it claimed to be, is between the people involved.

So: meet safely and in public, inspect before you pay, use a payment method with recourse, and check title and paperwork on a vehicle. If a listing looks fraudulent, report it and we will take it down.

Rydes awards Horsepower and Torque points for taking part. Points are a feature of the community, not currency: they have no cash value, cannot be bought, sold or transferred, and we may adjust or remove points obtained through abuse. We may change how points work as the platform develops.

Ray is an AI assistant trained on manuals and reference material. It is useful, and it is also capable of being confidently wrong.

Ray’s answers are information, not professional advice, and not a substitute for a qualified mechanic. Do not rely on Ray alone for anything that affects safety — brakes, steering, fuel, suspension, wiring, jacking a car up — or for legal, financial or medical questions. Verify against the manufacturer’s documentation before you turn a wrench, and if you get it wrong, that is on you rather than on us.

Ray usage is metered by plan. Do not automate it, resell access to it, or use it to reproduce copyrighted manuals wholesale.

The Rydes name, logo, design, software, and everything we have written or built are ours and stay ours. These Terms give you permission to use the service, not a license to copy it, rebrand it, or build a competing product out of it. Content posted by other members belongs to those members, not to you.

If you believe something on Rydes infringes your copyright, write to pitcrew@rydes.club identifying the work and where it appears, and we will investigate and remove it where the claim holds up.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these Terms, that puts other members at risk, or that exposes Rydes to legal liability. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first and explain what went wrong. For serious cases — fraud, threats, illegal activity — we will act immediately.

If we terminate a paid membership for a breach, we are not obliged to refund it. You can end this agreement at any time by deleting your account.

Rydes is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will keep every piece of content safe forever, and we make no warranty about the accuracy of content posted by members or generated by Ray. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow that, in which case this paragraph applies to you only as far as it legally can.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rydes is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or losses arising from a transaction between members, from an event you attended, or from work you carried out on a vehicle.

Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid Rydes in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

If someone brings a claim against Rydes because of what you posted, what you did on the platform, or how you broke these Terms, you agree to defend and indemnify us against it, including reasonable legal costs. We will tell you promptly about any such claim and let you take over the defense, provided any settlement you reach does not create an obligation for us.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that cannot be settled between us will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Suffolk County, Massachusetts, and we each consent to those courts.

Before filing anything, write to us at pitcrew@rydes.club and give us 30 days to sort it out. Most problems do not need a lawyer.

We may update these Terms as Rydes changes. The date at the top always shows the current version. For material changes we will give you notice — by email or in the app — at least 30 days before they take effect. Carrying on using Rydes after that means you accept the new Terms; if you do not, delete your account before they apply.

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the pricing page, are the whole agreement between us. If a court finds one part unenforceable, the rest still stands. Our not enforcing something once does not mean we have given up the right to enforce it later. You may not transfer this agreement to anyone else; we may transfer it as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the business.
